Cito consultants at International Conferences in Eurasia

Education and assessment in many countries in Eurasia are on the edge of great transformations. Exam boards and school organisations in several post-Sovjet countries organized International Conferences to invite experts from all over the world to share knowledge, experiences and new ideas with the local stakeholders in education and testing.

The 45th International Association for Educational Assessment (IAEA) Conference was hosted this year September by the State Examinations Center in Azerbaijan. Cito consultants were there in Baku, actively involved in presenting research papers and pre- and post-conference workshops. Topics like tracking learner progress, assessment of functional literacy and how to assess creativity were amongst the themes presented and shared with the participants. The conference was a big event of national importance for the relative young republic of Azerbaijan, what became very clear through the coverage by several mass media and the broadcasting on the national television circuit.
