Cito can look back on a successful AEA-Europe Conference

From 7 to 10 November, Cito was the proud host of the 19th annual conference of the Association for Educational Assessment – Europe (AEA-Europe) The theme of the conference, “Building Bridges to Future Educational Assessment”, was illustrated by many contributions dealing with research as well as practical applications.

Cito, which celebrated its 50th anniversary opened its offices in Arnhem to host the Welcome reception. The Nijmegen-Lent Van der Valk Hotel proved to be a perfect venue for the conference program and provided comfortable accommodations for many of the delegates. Thursday night was dedicated to visiting some interesting landmarks in Arnhem such as Historical Cellars, Airborne at the Bridge and Artez University of the Arts.

Keynote speeches addressed such diverse topics as “The Balance in Performance in Achievement Testing”, “Response Times in Assessments”, “Assessment of digital reading skills” and “Prospects of Educational Assessment in the 21st Century”.

As in previous years, Cito continues to sponsor the AEA-Europe Poster Award and we are looking forward to welcoming the 2018 Winner for a day’s visit to Cito.

The Friday night conference dinner undoubtedly was one of the conference highlights for many of the delegates with a superb mix of dinner, live music and dance.
