Personnel Certification

Cito provides many forms of support in certification. A number of organizations use Cito as their certification institute, where individuals can take tests in order to obtain certificates. Cito also offers support in defining certification requirements, developing tests and assessments and registering new certificates.

Personnel certification enables employees to show concrete evidence of competence in a particular field. An important characteristic of certification is that certification institutes or experts are independent. Thus guaranteeing that the required professional conditions are met. In some cases the authorities provide this guarantee; in other cases (international) professional organisations may be involved in defining the conditions for certification.

Certification may enable a professional to be accepted by a professional register. In personnel certification, it is essential that clearly defined competences are tested in a professional way and that their validity is of limited duration.
