Pyramid Method

The Pyramid Method equips children to enter primary education well prepared. This comprehensive method focuses on stimulating young children's development by means of play and stimulating tasks.

Pyramid offers young children (2,5-7 years) the safe environment they need to develop their talents and abilities. The method encompasses every aspect of development: it deals with cognitive and emotional intelligence as well as physical intelligence. Interesting games and learning-by-doing activities, attractive projects and specific cursory work help the children to come to grips with their environment. It also provides extra support when needed.

Countries

The Pyramid Method is widely used in the Netherlands and is also internationally well known. Pilot projects have started in Germany and the USA and the Pyramid Method is also being introduced in Japan and South Korea.

Experiences

Both children and their teachers love the Pyramid Method for its combination of solidly structured and - at the same time - playful approach. Parents, too, appreciate the positive effects from the Pyramid Method. Carefully planned and well structured, the method gives parents the confidential feeling that their child can develop in a positive way.

What professionals have told us

  • 'I loved the 'welcome' programme. It made the children feel secure in their group from the start' (teacher)
  • 'I can strongly recommend the Pyramid Method to all those working in pre-primary education' (school advisor)
  • 'I cannot afford to take any risks. I have to deal with beginning teachers, who lack relevant practical experience, with teachers who work part time and with teachers unable to come to work because they are ill. So I opt for the certainty that the Pyramid Method offers. It is an amazingly comprehensive method that not only allows leeway for experienced teachers to incorporate their own know-how, but it also provides beginning or substitute teachers with the tools they need' (school manager)
