Item Development

Participants will learn the principles of item development and will practise writing items. The course consists of presentations and workshops. The trainer will provide many examples from practice.

The first session of this course is mainly theoretical; the focus will be on quality requirements of tests and items. After this, the participants will practise developing items (multiple choice and open-ended items) and marking schemes.

As part of this course, participants will have an opportunity to discuss their own items with Cito specialists.

Participants are invited to bring their own materials. The trainer will contact the participants concerning the types of materials.
