Supporting Educational Innovation
The aim of this project was to:
- develop a system of examinations in which state supported standards are combined with the individual input of schools;
- implement a system of attainment targets and tools to monitor students' achievements that the general public supports.
Cito assisted in outlining the options for a system of monitoring the quality of education and certification of the outcomes of learning, and elaborated these into recommendations to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. The new exam organisation, CERMAT, had organised a professional PR campaign to convince the stakeholders of the need for national exams. Cito organised a larger conferences where the topic of introducing national exams was discussed. Cito assisted CERMAT with the introduction of national written Maturita exams and preparation of reference guides.
